March 14th 2018 - Restoration
Revelation 21:1-5
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new " And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."

Water has played an integral role in the bible, and our salvation. It is used in our baptism to anoint and cleans us, washing away the old and creating a new beginning for us.
"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
Jesus provides us with a way to find eternal life; he has washed away our sins and cleansed us. He has created a new start for our lives, when we renew our baptism periodically we again become washed clean even though we simply touch the water.
John 4:14
but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

We are all guilty of running at full steam almost everyday of the week. This full blown speedfest takes a toll on our bodies, minds, and faith. We rush and rush packing as much into the day we can, too afraid to miss out on something that might make life worthwhile. When we are drained empty we hit the proverbial "BurnOut" stage and lose interest or focus on what life, faith, Church, friends, etc. has to offer. Taking the time to stop, listen, enjoy what we see or are doing, slowing down and resting is key. This slow period is when we need to find restoration of some sort. Stop, Breathe, and enjoy what God has done, continues to do, and is going to do in your life. Stop rushing to meet him before he is ready for you to meet him.
Psalm 23:3
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
2 Corinthians 13:9
For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for.
